The week is coming to a glorious end and it’s time for MailBigFile to reveal its Top 5.
1. New Feature – Google Translate Now Available on the Free and Pro Service.
2. Service Update – Further Upgrades to the Pro Service.
3. New Feature – Business Accounts Can Now Have a Logo of Any Width and Height.
4. New Feature – Business Accounts Can Now Add the File Size to the Notification Emails.
5. Service Update – The Help Pages Have Been Updated.
As an international company, MailBigFile deals with customers from all over the world. Not all of these customers however have the ability to speak English or the kind of English required to be able to easily access and navigate the site. Unfortunately, MailBigFile currently only have English speaking employees.
So, with the above in mind and being mindful of the fact that we have had customers mail in asking for such a feature, we have added Google Translate to the Free and Pro Service pages.
Adding Google Translate to the pages will allow users to choose their own language and have Google translate the majority on the pages into their own language. We are of course aware that Google Translate isn’t perfect and can’t always deduce context properly, however it (we hope) should allow users whose English isn’t their mother tongue the ability to at least navigate the site.
Over the last number of weeks and months you may have noticed that we have posted about several server enhancements and improvements that we’ve made. As mentioned in a previous post, this was all due to the migration of servers that we have recently done.
In line with these recent migrations, we have been able to make further improvements to the service using our new server provider Amazon or Amazon Web Services. As such, we have indeed in the last couple of weeks made some more improvements to the service to help increase the general speed. This particular improvement was made to the Pro Service.
We’ve also been making some changes and adding some new features to the Business Service. One of which is the ability to change the default size of the header logo on your pages.
Previously, the header size was limited to 750×100 pixels. Although this was OK for most and it was plausible to find a way around this limitation, such a limitation was problematic for some. Being this as it may, we have now added in the ability to change the size of the header logo. Although, we would still suggest a banner like size for the header to be the most appropriate dimensions.
Another addition we’ve added for our Business Account users is the ability to have the file size added to the notification emails. This will allow the recipient of files to be able to determine the size of the file before they actually get to our site.
Currently, this is not set on as default. If you would like to have this added to your account please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
And finally, after a little investigation by me I had noticed that some of the help pages were slightly outdated. As such, these have all been updated to show the latest information and data for MailBigFile as well as providing some more information to help you if you’re having issues with the service.
Of course, if your query isn’t answered in the help section, you can always mail me at email@example.com.
