Another week has come and gone. Well, working week at least. Either way, it’s Friday and it’s time for another top 5 of the week.
1. Coming Soon – Email a BigFile From the Comfort of Your Email Client.
2. New Feature – Choose Between the Short and Long Links on the Business Account.
3. New Feature – Remove the Link From the Header Image Entirely.
4. Service Update – Further Improvements to the Service. Now to the Free Service. More capacity.
5. Service Update – Update to the Adobe Air Pro App.
We’re currently undergoing some tests and experiments sending files straight to MailBigFile using email clients. You’ll be able to send files to a recipient without even having to open up your browser.
How this will hypothetically work is that you’ll select the files you want to upload, enter in the unique email address that is found in your Pro Account’s Account Settings, add the recipients email address to the subject, hit send and voila, the file has sent just like it would do on your account. You’ll even be able to see the file stored on your Pro Account in your Upload History.
Keep an eye out in the coming weeks and months for more updates on where this is going.
As I mentioned in last weeks post, we’ve recently added the short links feature to the Business Accounts. You can as previously mentioned now use these in the exact same way as you might expect on the Pro Service.
However now we’ve also added the option to choose either the short or the long links will be used for your account. You can find this new option in the Administration part of your Send Solution.
Recently we had a call from a Business Account customer who needed to remove the link from the header image entirely. Unfortunately, the system wasn’t set up in such a way that allowed for this functionality. Although we did manage to find a work-around, it wasn’t ideal.
Thus, we have now added the option to remove the header link entirely. Should you in future need to remove the link at the top for whatever reason, you just need to contact me at email@example.com and request to have this removed.
We’ve made some more backend amendments to the service to further improve the service you receive from us. This time these changes relate to the Free Service of MailBigFile.
The changes themselves refer to the Upload and Download speeds of the files you upload. Not everyone will see these advances on the free service as it’s also dependent on your own connection to our site, but we’d imagine that the majority of our users should see these improvements.
We’ve been continuing to work on the Pro Account App that we mentioned in a previous post. We’re nearing the testing stage with the app, which means it’s drawing ever closer to a release date. We’ll obviously keep you up to date with any further advancements we make to the app.
Currently, the app will feature the ability to drag and drop files, adding a message, adding recipients and even the ability to schedule files. Scheduling files allows you to send files at a certain time as opposed to just sending them there and then. This can be useful if you’re currently downloading or uploading but want to get a list compiled.
